I think that most lawyers today dont want to stand by the phrase defending liberty, and pursue justice unless its putting more dollars in their pockets. Thats why large corporations and their employees commiting these crimes takes decades to stop them from corrupting society. Just look at Enron, but there are so many more and today in a Federal Civil Court they get majority of their cases kicked out because the attorney doesn't want to do the work required to serve justice to them, and the defendant thinks and some times knows they aren't going to jail, so they settle out of court, or get it thrown out all together it becomes a battle of words, instead of pursuing the law, the way it is written, so they get over and over on the economy and people get hurt and die, and nothing is done until it affects the attorneys family.
This, has been the proven fact in history a lawyer today is all out for the almighty dollar, until the illegal acts affects them, then they want blood. But, what happened to the protect the United States Citizens from these illegal acts, the defend liberty, pursue justice, well it went right out the door. If its not getting them esquire, or large amounts of money they want nothing to do with you, that makes them the lawyer corrupting the system. Just like at the cases against Volunteers of America, in 15 years no one has been able to crack their illegal practices.

We just returned from 10 days in Costa Rica. We were burgled withing 20 minutes of our first stop. They watch for tourist with rental cars and fight over who gets to steal your stuff. It took 3 days of our 10 day trip to get our passports replaced and we had to drive to San Jose to the American Embassy to get replacement passports. At the Embassy we met lots of Americans who had the same problem but they lost many thousands of dollars worth of cash, clothes, computers, cell phones and camera's.The rest of the time we spent trying to hold onto our stuff and did not feel safe ANYWHERE.We did manage to have fun in the interior of the country and met some great people from around the world. Everyone we talked to had horror stories of the tecos stealing their stuff. I would not recommend going there as the theive's are everywhere. DO NOT LEAVE ANYTHING IN YOUR CAR EVER. Do not leave your passports, money, creditcards or anything you value in your hotel room either. The thieves make way more money a day than the legitimate businesses so you have been warned. I found the coastal region to be dirty with alot of trash along the roads. There are many other countries that are nicer to visit and I would recommend checking those out. You can have your stuff stolen in any country but After all of our experiences we had I would suggest you do something different. The interior area around Arenol was really cool and we felt safer there. there are alot of nice B&B's to stay at but you really cannot stop and enjoy the activities unless your lugage is at a hotel or good B&B. If you go there stop at the 5 corners resurant outside of Tileron,as it is great food. If they do steal your clothes there is a clothing store in Tileron that has lots of stolen clothes that you can buy cheap. We had to do that. We met several people who came back to their vehicles after swimming to find everything had been stolen and all they had left was their flip flopps and swimsuit. Enjoy America and stimulate our economy.

I'm exploring various tour companies for a four night/five day trek to Machu Picchu. I'm finding dozens of companies offering this trip. Any suggestions of companies to work with? Or stay away from? Your help would be appreciated.

As I was concluding a recent Klein Tour of Ecuador and the Galapagos with a group from Northern Illinois University, my partially-completed evaluation form was missing after the steward had cleaned the cabin. After some searching, I found it, but did not have time to complete it. I now wish to mail it in. Please send me an address for US mail. Thanks!

Strange that the evaluation form did not have a return address on it! i can not believe that my situation is unique.
